Welcome

The House at Buck’s Turn sits in a field of wildflowers on the rugged northern coast of Cape Breton Island overlooking the North Atlantic Ocean.

The property of 200 acres extends to the peak of Sugar Loaf Mountain which rises steeply behind the house, and includes flower gardens, groves of hardwood and fruit trees and mossy, clear streams. The house, a historic building with a new addition, provides all the comforts of home, beautifully decorated and spacious living areas, and breathtaking, oceanfront views.

Whether you are looking for a secluded and peaceful retreat to let your creative juices flow, or a home base to access the cultural and outdoor adventures northern Cape Breton offers, the House at Buck's Turn has it all. Just north of the famous Cabot Trail, the house is close to the Cape Breton Highlands National Park, the world renowned Cabot Links golf course, sandy beaches, whale watching tours and picturesque fishing villages.

We invite you to get off the beaten path, relax and stay for a while.

House Information

2 Living Rooms

5 Bedrooms (7 Beds)

3 Bathrooms

The house was built in the 1880s and an addition was added by our family in 2005. The original house has been largely unmodified over the past 140 years so retains a historic charm that is echoed in the look and feel of the new addition.

The house has five bedrooms with 7 beds (1 queen, 1 double, 1 ¾, 4 singles) and three bathrooms (two showers, one bathtub). There are two large living rooms, a dining room and a fully equipped galley kitchen. A screened porch off the living room opens onto a large deck overlooking the meadow, heather and lavender gardens, and ocean.

High speed fiber optic internet and wifi are provided as are laundry facilities, Smart TV, and a BBQ.
